1994 SESSION
SB 194 Foster care.
Introduced by: Janet D. Howell | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Foster care. Provides that a foster child's legal custodian must file a petition for foster care review within 10 months after initial foster care placement rather than within 16 months as is currently required. Current law which is not being amended requires the scheduling of a hearing within 60 days of the filing of the petition, annual hearings after the initial hearing, and a hearing 24 months after initial placement. The change from 16 to 10 months means that foster care review hearings will be held at 12 months, 24 months and 36 months after initial foster care placement. Under current law hearings are held at 18 months, 24 months and 30 months after initial placement.
