SUMMARY:

Exemptions to the practice of nursing. Exempts from state nursing licensure requirements, any nurse who holds a current unrestricted license in another state or territory of the United States and who has been hired to provide care to a private individual while such individual is traveling through or temporarily staying in Virginia. This provision will allow nurses who accompany private individuals to Virginia, many of whom come for advanced and specialized medical care, to engage in the practice of nursing without violating state nurse licensure laws and regulations.
