SUMMARY:
Washington, DC, bypass. Expresses sense of the General Assembly in favor of a western bypass around Washington, D.C. The resolution notes that the state should (i) pursue with the State of Maryland the completion of the pending Tier 1 Environmental Impact Statement for the western connection in Loudoun County west of Dulles Airport and east of U.S. Route 15, (ii) seek designation of the western connection as a part of the National Highway System, and (iii) seek federal funding for the completion of the environmental studies for Tier 2, and a western connection around Washington, D.C.
