HB 889 Hate crimes.

SUMMARY:

Hate crimes. Enhances penalties for simple assault and trespass ( Class 1 misdemeanors) where the person or property targeted by the crime was intentionally selected based upon race, religion, color, or national origin by adding a six month minimum mandatory term of incarceration, thirty days of which is not subject to suspension.
