Introduced by: John J. Davies | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Vehicle weights. Provides that, if overweight vehicles exceed their allowable gross weight by 50 percent or more, they are to be impounded until their cases are adjudicated by the general district court and all penalties and court costs have been paid. Vehicles owned by motor vehicle rental and leasing companies would not, however, be subject to this procedure and could be reclaimed by their owners at any time. The loads of overweight leasing and rental vehicles would, however, be subject to impoundment at the discretion of the officer instead.
