SUMMARY:

Virginia Consumer Protection Act; credit balances on account; notification. Requires suppliers of goods and services who are subject to the Virginia Consumer Protection Act's provisions to notify consumers of existing open-end credit balances in excess of $5 resulting from consumer overpayment. The notice must be furnished by suppliers within 60 days of their receipt of overpayments. Under the bill, no separate or additional notice is required if the credit balance information is incorporated into statements of account furnished consumers by suppliers within the sixty-day period.
