SUMMARY:

Computer crimes. Creates a new offense within the Computer Crimes Act to make the use of so-called computer "time bombs" punishable as a Class 1 misdemeanor. The bill makes it unlawful to knowingly sell or license computer software that includes a device or code which could enable persons other that those to whom or for whom the software is provided or maintained to disable or stop the program from running.

However, the bill specifies that this activity would not be unlawful and the criminal sanctions are not to be applied during 120 days of any trial use period.
