HB 802 Residential Property Disclosure Act.

SUMMARY:

Property and conveyances; Virginia Residential Property Disclosure Act. Clarifies when written disclosure is required by builder, namely upon the sale of (i) a completed dwelling before accepting the purchase contract and (ii) a dwelling before or during its construction after issuance of a certificate of occupancy. The bill also provides that no written disclosure is required of a builder where the builder knows of no defects which would constitute a violation of any applicable building code.
