SUMMARY:

Notification costs of public education. Amends the statute relating to transmitting the education budget to the local governing body to require each school superintendent to provide, within a reasonable time as prescribed by the Board of Education, for annual written notification to parents of pupils enrolled in the school division of the estimated average per pupil cost of public education for the coming year and the actual cost of the previous year (because the books are closed and the actual costs will be known). The notice will be distributed with materials currently being sent to parents or separately. The notice may also include federal funds expended for public education.
