SUMMARY:
Disposal of tires. Imposes criminal penalties for illegally disposing of tires. The bill makes it unlawful for (i) a landowner to allow others to knowingly dispose of more than 500 tires on his property, or (ii) for any person to knowingly store, dispose of, or speculatively accumulates more than 500 waste tires on public or private property without first obtaining a permit from DEQ. The penalty for such activity is a Class 6 felony. The bill exempts salvage yards licensed by DMV so long as the yard's waste tires do not pose a hazard or a nuisance.
