HB 632 Condemnation of land for school purposes.
Introduced by: Eric I. Cantor | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Condemnation of land for school purposes. Expands the eminent domain powers of local school boards by granting the authority to take possession of property through "quick take" power, as such power is already granted to the Commonwealth Transportation Commissioner. This bill also revises school boards' right of entry to be the same as that of a county, city, or town pursuant to § 25-232.1, i.e., requiring written permission of or certified mail notice to the owner 15 days prior to entry.
