SUMMARY:

Workers' compensation; debt collection by health care providers. Bars health care providers from undertaking debt collection activities for unpaid medical expenses until an initial determination granting or denying benefits is made on a workers' compensation award by the Workers' Compensation Commission. Applicable statutes of limitations periods are tolled during the periods in in which collection actions are barred by this bill.
