HB 514 Records check; juvenile facilities.

Introduced by: Thomas G. Baker, Jr. | all patrons    ...    notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY:

Records check; juvenile facilities. Requires persons who begin working or who begin volunteering or providing services and will be alone with a juvenile at state-regulated residential facilities for juveniles on or after July 1, 1994, to provide copies of their criminal record and any record in the child abuse registry, or certification that no record exists. The bill, which has an effective date of July 1, 1994, does not provide that the existence of a record is a barrier to employment. Costs of obtaining the record are borne by the employee/volunteer unless the juvenile facility, at its option, decides to pay the cost.
