SUMMARY:
Local government regulation of garbage and refuse pickup and disposal services; penalties. Permits a county, city or town to adopt an ordinance which would provide civil penalties up to $500 per offense (i) for persons willfully contracting with a solid waste collector not licensed or permitted to perform refuse collection services within that jurisdiction and (ii) for such solid waste collector. Prior notice from the jurisdiction that the collector is not licensed or permitted is required before civil penalties can be imposed against a person contracting with the unlicensed or unpermitted solid waste collector.
