SUMMARY:

Local tax bills. Clarifies existing law by specifying that bills sent out to taxpayers by treasurers set forth the amount of tax due and rewrites that portion of § 58.1-3912 which permits mortgage holders, rather than the property owner, to be the recipient of the tax bill. The bill also eliminates the requirement that the tax form used by the treasurer be prescribed by the Department of Taxation.
