SUMMARY:

Professions and occupations; tradesmen certification. Transfers the tradesmen certification program from the Department of Housing and Community Development to the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation. Some provisions of the bill have a delayed effective date of July 1, 1995. The bill also requires the Board for Contractors to promulgate regulations relating to the tradesmen certification program on July 1, 1994, and provides that the standards for certification of tradesmen established by the Board of Housing and Community Development shall remain in effect until such time as the Board for Contractors implements standards. The bill increases the membership of the Board of Contractors from nine to thirteen, and designates the membership category of the four new members.
