SUMMARY:

Banking and finance; money order sales. Amends Chapter 12 (Money Order Sales) in Title 6.1 to require licensure of persons (other than those expressly exempted) who offer money transmission services to the general public. It requires them to be bonded and subjects them to financial examination, as necessary. Persons who engage in the business of money transmission without first being licensed pursuant to this bill's provisions are guilty of a class 6 felony.
