SUMMARY:

Counties, cities and towns; acquisition of public utilities' natural gas distribution systems. Prohibits localities from acquiring a public utility's natural gas or electric power distribution system or facilities within the localities' limits unless the acquisition is first approved by public referendum or is agreed to by the utility. Cities and towns which provided electric service as of 1/1/94 are exempt from the referendum requirement with regard to electric power.
