SUMMARY:

Tuberculosis certificates for public school employees. Grants registered nurses licensed pursuant to Board of Nursing regulations and employed by local health departments the authority to sign certificates indicating that a public school employee is not infected with tuberculosis. Under current law, this authority is reserved to physicians. Required as a condition to employment in a public school, these certificates are based on results of skin tests and other examinations deemed necessary by a licensed physician.
