HB 168 Shooting preserves.

Introduced by: R. Creigh Deeds | all patrons    ...    notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY:

Shooting preserves. Requires the Board of Game and Inland Fisheries to promulgate regulations for the licensing and operation of all shooting preserves, including those where the shooting of exotic animals takes place. Currently, the Board regulates, by rule, only the 63 preserves in which pen-raised birds are shot. New commercial shooting preserves would have to meet local zoning and land use requirements before they could be licensed by the Board. The bill also allows the Department to recover from the licensee the costs incurred by the Department in investigating and disposing of diseased preserve animals.
