SUMMARY:

Secrecy of tax information. Amends § 58.1-3 (tax secrecy provision) in three places: (i) clarifies that imprinting motor vehicle identification information on a motor vehicle local license decal does not violate secrecy of tax information laws; (ii) requires other state agencies and administrative and regulatory units of state government to provide names, addresses, and social security number of taxpayers to the State Tax Commissioner; and (iii) creates a Class 2 misdemeanor for any person who willfully disseminates or publishes confidential tax documents.
