HB 1287 Nursing examinations.

Introduced by: Frank M. Ruff | all patrons    ...    notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY:

Nursing examinations. Authorizes a graduate of an approved nursing education program to practice without a license for a maximum of 90 days following successful completion of the education program and submission of the proper application and fee for licensure unless the applicant fails the licensing examination within the 90-day period. There is currently a licensure exemption for the time between graduation and the release of the results of the first licensure examination taken by the applicant after graduation. Beginning April 1, 1994, the examination format will become automated and daily tests may be administered by computer. Therefore, the exemption is being restructured to reflect the immediacy of the results and the daily availability of the examination.

This provision contains an emergency clause and will, thereby, become effective upon signing.
