SUMMARY:

Pharmacies. Corrects oversight to require nonresident pharmacies to disclose to the Board information regarding controlled drugs in Schedules V and VI. This bill also provides for the registration of nonresident wholesale distributors of prescription drugs and a requirement to supply to appropriate authorities records of drugs brought into the Commonwealth. This provision will allow more detailed monitoring of nonresident pharmacies (mail-order pharmacies and nonresident wholesale distributors (mail-order wholesalers) for the purpose of detecting drug diversion and distribution of substandard pharmaceuticals.
