HB 1195 Conversion of domestic mutual insurer to stock insurer.

SUMMARY:

Accident and sickness insurance; conversion of domestic mutual insurer to stock insurer. Requires any domestic mutual insurance company currently providing a health care coverage open enrollment program to continue to offer such program subsequent to any conversion from a mutual insurance company to a stock insurance company. The bill also prescribes a premium tax schedule applicable to the resulting stock insurance company and its subsidiaries.
