SUMMARY:
Nursing facilities and adult care residences. Provides that such facilities may not retaliate or discriminate against persons who complain or provide information to the agency that regulates them or to any other agency. (Nursing facilities are licensed by the Department of Health and adult care residences are licensed by the Department of Social Services.) The bill also provides that the identity of the complainant and any patient or resident who is the subject of the complaint shall be treated as confidential and released only pursuant to a court order.
