HB 1120 Small claims court.

SUMMARY:

Small claims court. Authorizes counties and cities to adopt ordinances requesting establishment of small claims divisions within their general district courts but provides that no such ordinance is effective to create the division until action is taken by the General Assembly. The bill provides that where two or more localities share a general district court, the small claims division cannot be established unless the governing body in each locality adopts the ordinance.
