SUMMARY:
Probation and parole officers. Gives adult probation and parole officers the authority to carry a concealed weapon when appropriate training, in accordance with regulations promulgated by the Board of Corrections, has been certified and when specifically ordered by a judge of the Circuit Court within the district to which the officer has been assigned. Juvenile probation and parole officers already have such authority. This provision must be reenacted by the 1994 Special Session of the General Assembly.
