1994 SESSION
WHEREAS, Dianne L. Tremblay, a teacher at James Monroe High School in Fredericksburg, was named the Virginia Vocational Association's 1994 Teacher of the Year; and
WHEREAS, during a career in vocational education that began in 1973, Dianne Tremblay has served as a marketing education teacher, an adult training and development coordinator, a distributive education specialist with the Virginia Department of Education, and a teacher-coordinator for a regional hotel/motel marketing program, her current position; and
WHEREAS, since the inception of the program in 1990, Dianne Tremblay has taught students from six area high schools in three school divisions, with 40 percent of her students going on to college and three of her students winning national recognition and "Awards of Excellence"; and
WHEREAS, Dianne Tremblay's exceptional career has won her numerous awards, including the 1990 Reggie Award from the regional Chamber of Commerce and the Check Excellence Award from the Sheraton Inn Fredericksburg; and
WHEREAS, in addition to her teaching excellence, Dianne Tremblay has contributed to her profession through service to a wide range of regional, statewide, and national associations, such as the Virginia and National Vocational Associations, the Virginia Association of Marketing Educators and the Virginia and National Education Associations; and
WHEREAS, throughout her 20-year career in vocational education, Dianne Tremblay has proven herself an extraordinary teacher, an influential leader in her profession and a most deserving recipient of the 1993 Teacher of the Year honors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly commend and congratulate Dianne L. Tremblay on her recognition as the Virginia Vocational Association's 1993 Teacher of the Year; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Dianne L. Tremblay as an expression of the General Assembly's gratitude for her notable and continuing contributions to the education of Virginia's youth.
