LD3970492Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 46.2-349 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 46.2-349. Unlawful to permit violations of chapter.
No Any person shall authorize
who authorizes or knowingly permit permits a
motor vehicle owned by him or under his control to be driven by any person
who has no legal right to do so or in violation of any of the provisions of
this chapter shall be guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor. However, if the
person who has no legal right to drive had his license revoked due to an
adjudication as an habitual offender, a violation of this section involving
such person shall be punishable as a Class 1 misdemeanor.
