CHAPTER 15 An Act to direct the Secretary of Health and Human Resources to consider adopting a process to allow emergency medical services providers to administer prescription medication to persons under certain circumstances. [H 1449] Approved March 16, 2023

 

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That the Secretary of Health and Human Resources, in collaboration with the State Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board, shall consider adopting a process to allow an emergency medical services provider to administer prescription medication to a person who has a valid prescription for that medication and is receiving medical care from the emergency medical services provider but is unable to consent to the administration of the medication due to a medical emergency.
