SUMMARY AS PASSED:

Alcoholic beverage control; transportation of alcoholic beverages. Increases from one gallon to three gallons the amount of alcoholic beverages that a person may transport into the Commonwealth and consolidates current law regarding the transportation of alcoholic beverages into or within the Commonwealth. The bill contains technical amendments.

SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:

Alcoholic beverage control; transportation of alcoholic beverages. Increases from one gallon to three gallons the amount of alcoholic beverages that a person may transport into the Commonwealth and consolidates current law regarding the transportation of alcoholic beverages into or within the Commonwealth.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Alcoholic beverage control; transportation of alcoholic beverages purchased outside the Commonwealth. Removes the prohibition on transporting within the Commonwealth more than three gallons of alcoholic beverages purchased out of state. Under current law, such transportation constitutes a Class 1 misdemeanor.
