22103934DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. That the Department of Veterans Services (the Department) shall study and develop a plan for the establishment of a veterans care center in the eastern portion of the Northern Virginia region to provide affordable, long-term nursing care to veterans who (i) were honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces, (ii) meet medical requirements for nursing care, and (iii) are residents of the Commonwealth or were residents of the Commonwealth prior to entrance into active duty with the United States Armed Forces. The Department shall report to the Governor and the Chairmen of the House Committees on Appropriations and Health, Welfare and Institutions and the Senate Committees on Finance and Appropriations and Education and Health regarding the plan for establishing such veterans care center, including the proposed location of such veterans care center and the timeline for construction of such veterans care center, by November 1, 2022.
