H.B. 632 Exhaust systems; excessive noise.

Exhaust systems; excessive noise. Makes certain secondary offenses related to load exhaust systems that are not in good working order primary offenses and removes the prohibition on law-enforcement officers stopping a vehicle for a violation of a local ordinance unless it is a jailable offense.

A BILL to amend and reenact §§ 15.2-919, 46.2-1049, and 46.2-1300 of the Code of Virginia, relating to exhaust systems; excessive noise.

H.B. 1092 Nonrepairable and rebuilt vehicles; repeals sunset clause.

Nonrepairable and rebuilt vehicles; sunset. Repeals the sunset clause for certain amendments related to definitions of nonrepairable and rebuilt vehicles. As enacted in 2017, the amendments would have expired on July 1, 2021. However, language in Item 436 of Chapter 552 of the Acts of Assembly of 2021, Special Session I (the Appropriation Act), provided that, notwithstanding any other law, the amendments would remain in place until July 1, 2022. The bill makes the amendments permanent.

A BILL to repeal the second enactment of Chapter 342 and the third enactment of Chapter 362 of the Acts of Assembly of 2017, relating to nonrepairable and rebuilt vehicles; sunset.

S.B. 777 Front and rear bumper height limits.

Front and rear bumper height limits. Provides that no vehicle shall be operated on a public highway if the suspension, frame, or chassis has been modified by any means so as to cause the height of the front bumper to be four or more inches greater than the height of the rear bumper.

A BILL to amend and reenact § 46.2-1063 of the Code of Virginia, relating to front and rear bumper height limits.
