SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:

Virginia Public Procurement Act; requirement to pay prevailing wage; transportation infrastructure projects. Clarifies, for purposes of the requirement under certain circumstances to pay the prevailing wage rate for work performed on public works contracts, that public works includes transportation infrastructure projects.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Prevailing wage rate; public contractors. Clarifies that public works include state-owned institutions of higher education and transportation infrastructure projects when paid for in whole or in part by state funds or procured through a contract for public works and must adhere to the prevailing wage rate.
