SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:
Standby guardianship; triggering event. Allows a parent who has reason to anticipate his possible detention, incarceration, or deportation connected to an immigration action to petition the court for approval of a standby guardian for the parent's minor child.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Standby guardianship; triggering event. Adds the detention, incarceration, or deportation of a parent to the list of triggering events for which a parent may designate a standby guardian to be appointed for the care of the parent's minor child.
