SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Uniformed law-enforcement officers; identification; penalty. Requires every law-enforcement officer who is on duty and in uniform to wear a badge, nameplate, or other device that conspicuously displays the officer's badge or other identification number or the name of the officer. Upon request for identification from any person, a law-enforcement officer who is on duty and in uniform shall disclose his badge or other identification number or his name. The bill makes it a Class 2 misdemeanor for any law-enforcement officer who is on duty and in uniform to intentionally obstruct or conceal his badge or other identification number or his name.
