Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Title 2.2 a chapter numbered 36.1, consisting of a section numbered 2.2-3606, as follows:
§ 2.2-3606. Prohibition on the removal of the flag of the United States.
Neither the Governor nor any agency of the executive branch of state government shall order the removal of any flag of the United States displayed on any private personal property, including construction equipment belonging to a contractor, located on public property unless such flag is deemed a safety hazard by a state or local police department, sheriff's office, fire department, or fire marshal.
