20107537DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. That the Department of General Services (the Department) is directed to (i) determine which state-owned structures have a higher likelihood of being involved in a natural or man-made emergency that may require special access by law-enforcement personnel and (ii) study the desirability and feasibility of coordinating with local law enforcement in the installation of key boxes (a) containing keys or other credentials or access cards that may be necessary for law-enforcement officials to gain access to such structure or an area within such structure during an emergency and (b) listed in accordance with UL LLC Standards 437 and 1037 in strategic locations on the outside of such structures. To the extent that the Department determines that installation of such key boxes is desirable and feasible, it may implement procedures to do so.
