SENATE BILL NO. 1044 FLOOR AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by Senator McPike on February 3, 2020) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Senator McPike) A BILL directing the Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers to promulgate regulations establishing licensure requirements for funeral directors and embalmers.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That the Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers shall promulgate regulations that establish the requirements of licensure for funeral directors and embalmers as defined in § 54.1-2800.

2. That the Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers shall promulgate regulations to implement the provisions of this act to be effective within 280 days of its enactment.
