SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 4017
Celebrating the life of Clyde Everett Jett.

 

Agreed to by the Senate, July 9, 2019

 

WHEREAS, Clyde Everett Jett, a respected veteran and former law-enforcement officer in Stafford County, died on June 29, 2019; and

WHEREAS, a native of the White Oak neighborhood in Stafford County, Clyde “Tunk” Jett joined the United States Navy in 1947 and served his country for 20 years, including during the Korean War and the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, after his honorable military service, Tunk Jett returned home and began a career as a police officer with the Department of Defense; and

WHEREAS, Clyde Jett returned to his beloved White Oak community, where he relished every opportunity to spend time with his children and grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, predeceased by his wife, Ruby, and his son, Dwain, Tunk Jett will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his children, Charles and Denise, and their families, and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of Virginia hereby note with great sadness the loss of Clyde Everett Jett; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Clyde Everett Jett as an expression of the Senate of Virginia’s respect for his memory.
