19200068DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Chapter 11 of Title 52 a section numbered 52-50 as follows:
§ 52-50. Mental Health Crisis Intervention Hotline.
The Virginia Fusion Intelligence Center shall (i) establish a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week toll-free Mental Health Crisis Intervention Hotline (the Hotline) to receive anonymous tips regarding individuals suspected to be in need of mental health treatment to facilitate mental health treatment, crisis intervention, and prevention of tragedies, and (ii) develop and implement policies and procedures for referring tips received through the Hotline to state or local law enforcement, as may be appropriate, in a timely manner for follow-up and investigation.
