HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 4019   Commending the Fort Defiance High School outdoor track 4x800 relay team.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, July 9, 2019

 

WHEREAS, the Fort Defiance High School outdoor track 4x800 relay team capped off a dominant season with a victory in the Virginia High School League Class 3 state championship and a trip to a national tournament; and

WHEREAS, the Fort Defiance High School outdoor track 4x800 relay team is made up of Ramsey Corbin, Ben Harlow, Ben Smoker, and Jacob Jones; this exceptional team holds the school record for the second-fastest time in the 4x800 relay with 7:59.9; and

WHEREAS, on the road to the state championship, the Fort Defiance High School outdoor track 4x800 relay team won the Valley District and Region 3C tournaments; and

WHEREAS, the Fort Defiance High School outdoor track 4x800 relay team received First Team All-District, First Team All-Region, and First Team All-State honors; and

WHEREAS, as state champions, the Fort Defiance High School outdoor track 4x800 relay team represented the Commonwealth at a national tournament, placing 15th overall; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Fort Defiance High School outdoor track 4x800 relay team hereby be commended on its victory at the Virginia High School League Class 3 state championship in 2019; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Fort Defiance High School outdoor track 4x800 relay team as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for the team’s achievement.
