SUMMARY AS PASSED:
Music therapy. Directs the Board of Health Professions to evaluate whether music therapists and the practice of music therapy should be regulated and the degree of regulation to be imposed. The bill requires the Board to report the results of its evaluation to the Chairmen of the Senate Committee on Education and Health and the House Committee on Health, Welfare and Institutions by November 1, 2019.
SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:
Music therapy. Creates a process for registration of musical therapists by the Board of Medicine and provides that no person shall use or assume the title "music therapist" unless he is registered with the Board of Medicine.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Music therapy. Requires the Board of Medicine to regulate the practice of music therapy and to set requirements for licensure to practice music therapy. The bill establishes the Advisory Board on Music Therapy to assist the Board of Medicine in such regulation.
