HB 2771 Medicare supplement policies; switching plans.
Introduced by: Robert B. Bell | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Medicare supplement policies; switching plans. Authorizes an individual to purchase any type of Medicare supplement policy, of any plan type, during an annual open enrollment period lasting 30 days or more, commencing with the individual's birthday. The ability to switch such policies is subject to the limitation that the new plan offers benefits equal to or lesser than those provided by the individual's previous coverage. The measure prohibits the issuer of the new policy from denying or conditioning its issuance on the individual's health status, claims experience, receipt of health care, or medical condition if, at the time of the open enrollment period, the individual is covered under another Medicare supplement policy or contract.
