SUMMARY AS PASSED:
Jurisdiction of juvenile and domestic relations district courts; state or federal benefit. Grants the juvenile and domestic relations district courts jurisdiction to make specific findings of fact required by state or federal law to enable a child to apply for or receive a state or federal benefit. This bill is identical to SB 1758.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Jurisdiction of juvenile and domestic relations district courts; specific findings of fact; status as a special immigrant. Grants the juvenile and domestic relations district courts jurisdiction over petitions to make the specific findings of fact necessary for a juvenile to petition the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services of the Department of Homeland Security for status as a special immigrant, as defined by 8 U.S.C. § 1101(a)(27)(J).
