SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
State agencies; amendment of regulations pertaining to the maximum temperature at which certain rooms may be kept. Directs the Board of Housing and Community Development to revise the Uniform Statewide Building Code to decrease the temperature at which an owner or operator of certain apartment buildings who rents, leases, or lets one or more dwelling units, rooming units, or guestrooms on terms, either expressed or implied, to furnish cooling to the occupants thereof shall supply cooling during the period from May 15 to October 1 from 80 degrees Fahrenheit to 77 degrees Fahrenheit. The bill also directs the Department of Social Services, the Department of Juvenile Justice, the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, the Department of Health, and the Department of Corrections to amend their regulations to provide that the maximum temperature at which certain rooms in facilities regulated by such agencies may be kept shall be no more than 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
