19103754DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Department of Rail and Public Transportation, shall place and maintain appropriate signs along highways indicating the presence and direction of nearby Amtrak or intercity passenger rail stations. In designing such signs, the Department of Transportation shall review Amtrak signage in other states, including the "by train" signs in North Carolina. The costs associated with the design, placement, and maintenance of such signs shall be paid by the Intercity Passenger Rail Operating and Capital Fund (§ 33.2-1603 of the Code of Virginia). All agencies of the Commonwealth shall provide assistance to the Department of Transportation, upon request.
