Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 8 of the second enactment of Chapter 296 of the Acts of Assembly of 2018 is amended and reenacted as follows:

§8. The provisions of this enactment shall not be construed to limit the ability of the State Corporation Commission to approve additional applications for placement of transmission lines underground. Approval by the State Corporation Commission of a proposed transmission line for inclusion in this program shall (i) preclude the placement of future overhead electrical transmission lines of at least 69 kilovolts in the same area or corridor by other transmission projects and (ii) not preclude the placement of electrical distribution lines in the same area or corridor.
