HOUSE BILL NO. 1704 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the House Committee on Education on January 21, 2019) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate Reid) A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 1 of Chapter 6 of Title 23.1 a section numbered 23.1-611.1, relating to the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia; financial aid award notification.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 1 of Chapter 6 of Title 23.1 a section numbered 23.1-611.1 as follows:

§ 23.1-611.1. Financial aid award notification.

Any comprehensive financial aid award notification provided to a student by a public institution of higher education or private institution of higher education shall meet the requirements and best practices established by the Council in its Financial Aid Award Letters Policies and Guidance.
