WHEREAS, in 2018, the Vietnamese American Uniformed Services Association celebrates its 10th anniversary of providing fellowship, mentorship, and opportunities for networking and professional development to Vietnamese American members of the United States Armed Forces; and

WHEREAS, founded in 2008, the Vietnamese American Uniformed Services Association is open to current and former members of all branches of military service, as well as civil servants in government agencies such as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Department of Homeland Security, among others; and

WHEREAS, the members of the Vietnamese American Uniformed Services Association are united by bonds of selfless service to the nation and mutual respect and demonstrate the organizationís core values of excellence, integrity, patriotism, pride, and support; and

WHEREAS, the Vietnamese American Uniformed Services Association enables members to achieve high standards of personal and professional conduct and promotes devotion to serving and defending the United States as well as pride in Vietnamese culture and heritage; and

WHEREAS, the Vietnamese American Uniformed Services Association also supports military families and honors those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the nation; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Vietnamese American Uniformed Services Association hereby be commended on the occasion of its 10th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Vietnamese American Uniformed Services Association as an expression of the House of Delegatesí admiration for the organizationís mission to honor the men and women who have served and sacrificed in defense of the Commonwealth and the United States.
